Why the Summit?
The Hawaiʻi Food System Summit convenes stakeholders from across the islands to learn and share priorities for food policy in advance of the 2024 legislative session.
For more on the process, people and key outcomes of the 2023 Food System Summit, please visit our Food Summit page. As we bring our focus towards the many food and agriculture issues facing Hawaiʻi, the need for a comprehensive food system plan, including strategies for building food system resilience and robust disaster preparedness, remains a key priority for many stakeholders.
Through the generous support of the Stupski Foundation a limited number of travel and accommodation stipends are available for participants. Please see the registration form to apply.

Working Towards Shared Objectives
Hawaiʻi Food System Summit Listening Sessions
We want to inform you about opportunities to engage within the food system community that we hope aligns your work with THFST’s mission and vision for an equitable and sustainable āina.
These gatherings will be a fantastic opportunity for us to come together, exchange ideas, and work towards our shared objectives. We value your unique perspectives and expertise, and your presence at the meeting will be invaluable.
These listening sessions will be formatted to be Zoom-based, roughly 90 minutes long and will provide participants an opportunity to share their county and/or state-level policy priorities and active initiatives for 2024; offer time for questions or feedback from colleagues regarding priority initiatives; participate in preliminary prioritization of policy areas to be workshopped at the second Hawaiʻi Food System Summit 2023 (December 14-15, 2023); and provide early feedback on previously identified activities and guiding principles of an eventual Statewide Food Policy Network/Coalition. If you haven’t already, please sign up using this form for the listening sessions and Zoom information will be sent to you.
